The Bees Knees do 44AD, Bath, sept 2014

We (Susi, Alison, Michelle, Angie and me) were offered the chance to use the newly converted 44AD gallery. The plan was to use the space as an open studio as we’ve done with Walcot Chapel. The building is right by the Roman Baths and the Abbey and had been used as council offices. Three of us went to see it as the 44AD guys started to convert it into studios and a gallery – it was atmospheric and felt full of stories. Somehow once there, the gallery space was so beautifully white and pristine that we ended up having an exhibition. I can only recommend this approach as a stress free way to prepare for exhibiting!
In the hallway we had a drawing wall which was popular and well used…might become a feature of whatever we plan next…Walcot as a studio space in June I think.
